Two days later, Mercy pulled into her driveway a little after seven. She sat in her car for a few more minutes, sighing into her steering wheel as she gathered the will to go inside and get on with life. It was the weekend, at least. Maybe on Saturday she would go shopping for some new things for her home. Ever since her lust had been reinstated, she thought about getting some new toys…

As she rooted for her house keys in her purse, she happened to see her bedroom light on upstairs.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” She found her keys and allowed her arms to fall to her sides. “Either I forgot to turn off the light this morning, or…”

Or it was the last of the Seven Sinners.

How long had it been since Excess made a mess of her kitchen? Three weeks? A month? In that time, Mercy waited patiently for her therapy to end, but the final goddess never appeared. Mercy knew better than to expect them on a certain schedule. In the beginning, she was left with nothing but Lust, Avarice, and Sloth inside of her, creating a woefully imbalanced woman. Now Mercy was only out one more trait, and she wondered if that deity awaited her right now.

Only one way to find out. She opened the door and stepped inside, half expecting to see the woman of the night in her front hallway.

She saw nothing but darkness, even after she turned on the light and hung up her jacket.

“Hello?” she called up the stairs. “Is someone up there?”

No response.

Maybe she was that dumb and left the light on when she departed that morning. Regardless, if a deity were up waiting in her room, she clearly was not in a hurry to make contact. So Mercy went into her kitchen, got a snack, and sat at her table to check messages on her phone.

“Thinking about you…” Daisy had sent fifteen minutes ago.

Something thumped above Mercy’s head.

“You’re gonna have to wait,” she mumbled. Am I in the mood for sex? To be on the safe side, Mercy brought up some of her favorite naughty pictures in an attempt to get into the mood. Should she watch some porn? Sext with Daisy? Come on, don’t sext with the girl you want to make all yours when this is over… Mercy didn’t consider this cheating, especially since she and Daisy were on the same page about not necessarily being exclusive at the moment, but that would hopefully change soon. Besides, could Mercy stop her healing once it began?

The naughty pictures weren’t working. After a day like that, all she wanted to do was take a shower and maybe watch TV.

Except she knew she couldn’t put this off forever. Especially with nothing else to keep her preoccupied downstairs. Nighttime was meant for upstairs, snug in bed and watching the screen she kept at the other end of the bedroom. So Mercy stood, cleaned up, and resigned herself to the fate of either dealing with the dumbest burglar in history, or the last of the Seven Sinners.
